Equestrian Center News

The Yelp  January 2008 edition

Submitted by: Carol L. Holt

We have had a very productive year at the stables this past year. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Michael Neveau for his support and for offering up the support of those who work for the YLOA. Many of our long awaited projects have either been completed or are in the works. The Equestrian Center continues to remain a popular amenity in the park with a very active group participating there, where over the year’s expenses have been kept in check and we currently have a waitlist of members wanting to rent a stall or two. The center is in good shape and we hope to continue to strive to make it a great place to come together to enjoy horse ownership.

With that said I would like to thank all those who spent endless volunteer hours to help with all the improvements. Without you, much of what we have accomplished this year could not have taken place. A special thank you to Joseph Shreve, YLOA Security Manager, for jumping right in and getting involved, he has attended out last two meetings, which we hold on Sunday afternoons.

At our November meeting we placed new committee members. Thank you to those who took the time this past year to serve and dedicate their time. The following people have accepted positions on the committee for 2008. Kathy Roussin – Chair, Diana Pierce – Vice Chair, Tammi Edmonds – Secretary, Carol Holt – Treasurer, Stacy Soulis – Events and Show Chair and Tiffany Lynch, out committee member, at large. At this time we are still hoping to fill the position of maintenance.

The new shade structure, purchased from True Value Hardware in YLP, over the wash rack area at the back of the center has been erected. The very day it was finished one of our favorite farriers used it and couldn’t thank us enough for finally completing that project. Bob had quite a few compliments for the new look around the barn.

From all of us to all of you, Best Wishes in the New Year. Happy Riding.
